Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds

Well, I'm in York!!

The plane ride here was long and exhausting. After that journey, Helen and I had to navigate our way through Manchester airport to get to the train station. I thought the train ride was great, we got to see the English countryside and all of the snow covered hills. When we arrived in York we took a cab ride into the University and we got situated in our rooms. Afterwards, we met some other exchange students from the US and talked with them and we also met some stufents who just arrived from their exchanges in the US one of the guys actually stidied in Potsdam. It was a funny coincidence so we talked about Potsdam at dinner. After dinner there was an international student mixer. It was kind of boring. I ended up going out to some pubs with Helen, our new friends from the states and their floormates that are from the area. It was a long, long day.

This morning there was a campus tour and then we filled out information and picked our modules (classes) again. After that fun, some of us ventured into the city of York to buy some things we left at home and found some great shops. I love walking through the town, there is so much history here. Everywhere you turn there is something to see. There is a medieval wall that surrounds the town center and York Minster is right down the road!

This coming saturday I am going to Whitby and Scarborough by the seaside!
